Top results for flu vaccinations

East Coast Community Healthcare has topped the tables as the highest performing community health organisation in the country for staff flu vaccinations, and also the highest performing healthcare organisation in the eastern region for the third year running.

A total of 84.1% of ECCH staff were vaccinated between 1st September and 31st January. The national average was 68.6%.

The social enterprise, which is based in Lowestoft and provides NHS community health services across Norfolk and Waveney, offered the vaccination to all its staff in order to protect them, their patients and families against catching flu.

ECCH chief executive Jonathan Williams said: “I am very proud that we have consistently achieved exceptional results with our flu vaccination programme. It’s part of the ethos of our organisation to work together in order to achieve together and every year we pull together to encourage all our staff to have a flu jab and ensure our patients are protected against this potentially deadly virus. Our Infection Prevention and Control team show real drive and commitment in encouraging a high take-up and I’m delighted their hard work has once again paid off.”
