Food Safety

A course intended to develop a level of understanding of the basic principles of food hygiene and safety.

This course will ensure delegates fully understand the impact they could have on the safety of the food products they handle and the health of those who consume it.

The aim is to develop a level of understanding of the basic principles of food hygiene and safety expected. This training shows compliance with the law and covers major aspects of food hygiene.

COURSE CONTENT
  • Simple microbiology, toxins, spares, growth and death
  • Common food hazards-physical, chemical and microbiological
  • Personal hygiene- basic rules and responsibilities
  • Preventing food contamination
  • Managing food safety hazards
  • Food poisoning, symptoms and causes
  • Cleaning and disinfection
  • Legal obligations including any recent or upcoming changes in the law
  • Pest control
  • Effective temperature control of food e.g. storage, thawing, cooking and reheating

 

DETAILS

This two hour in-house training session costs £300 plus VAT for anything up to 15 delegates, each delegate thereafter will cost £30 per person plus VAT.

The costs are inclusive of trainer, travel, equipment, certificates, copy of the signed attendance sheet and any handouts.

The course administrator will be responsible for arranging venue and refreshments.
