ECCH purchases Cavell Healthcare

ECCH has bought the award-winning domiciliary care provider Cavell Healthcare which has been operating throughout East Anglia since 2016.

The purchase will see all 85 full and part time staff of Cavell Healthcare remain in their current roles. Managing Director Gordon Anderson, who set up the business, will also remain in post working alongside the ECCH Leadership Team.

Cavell Healthcare has offices in Norwich and Lowestoft. Its staff provide around 2,000 care hours per week. 70% if its work is through contracts with Norfolk and Suffolk County Councils, the remainder is with private clients.

Cavell Healthcare’s customers should not notice any change in the service. They will see the same carers visiting their homes at the same times as you do currently. The company’s logo, staff uniforms, vehicles and offices will also remain the same.

Gordon Anderson said: “This is a very exciting time for Cavell Healthcare. We have been very successful in recent years and this will enable us to build on the service we offer. We will be able to share our expertise in the domiciliary care market with ECCH and explore ways in which we can, in the future, provide a wider range of services for our clients and provide opportunities for staff to develop their skills.”

ECCH chief executive Ian Hutchison said: “We feel Cavell Healthcare’s values and ethos fit with our own and we share a core purpose to improve the lives of those in our communities. The health and social care system is facing well documented challenges and we believe, working with the teams at Cavell Healthcare, we can make a tangible contribution – building on our strengths as an organisation and looking for areas where we can add value.”
