John Niland - Interim Chair

John is the former Chief Executive of Provide CIC, which is based in Essex but provides community health and social care services across the country. Prior to that, he worked in local government and in the private and voluntary sectors. Under John’s leadership, Provide doubled in size and won several national awards as well as gaining an “Outstanding” rating from the CQC.

He has an Honorary Doctorate in Health and Social Care from Anglia Ruskin University and an Honorary Professorship in Business from the University of Essex.

He is an advocate for employee-owned companies and was named Ernst and Young Social Entrepreneur of The Year in 2014.
