Neurological Rehabilitation Service
We provide physiotherapy and occupational therapy for patients aged 16 and over with acute and long term neurological conditions such as stroke, Parkinson's, multiple sclerosis and motor neurone disease.
We have MS/PD/MND specialist nurses fully integrated with the team and can provide clinic appointments and home visits across Great Yarmouth and Waveney. Interpretation and translation services can be arranged for service users.
Our physiotherapy staff work across these sites. You should always be able to talk to a physiotherapist between 8.30am and 4.00pm.
We hold information groups for newly diagnosed patients. These offer practical support and advice with the aim of helping people self-manage their condition as much as possible. Future sessions will be advertised here.
We also hold self-management groups supporting patients to self-manage their conditions in conjunction with patient support groups and the Neurology nurses who form part of the Integrated community neurology team.
In addition, talks to patient support groups are held on a regular basis including offering a monthly seated exercise class in the Lowestoft area during the Parkinson’s disease support group meeting.
Patients can be referred to this service by a consultant neurologist, GP or health professional or, if you are already known to the service, you can contact us again by filling in our referral form.
