National Elf Day

Nurses and therapists at Beccles Hospital proved they were all in good ‘elf’ to raise money for charity, while their ECCH colleagues in Lowestoft called it a wrap.

Beccles Hospital’s therapy team and staff from Minsmere Ward took it in turns to cycle on a training bike for seven and a half hours, sporting elf hats, for National Elf Day. They covered 141.5kms and collected £120 for the Alzheimers Society, which stages the special day every year to raise funds to help beat dementia.

Meanwhile ECCH staff in Lowestoft volunteered to wrap gifts at the Britten Centre for a day in return for donations to the Thin Ice Project. This is an incentive run by the charity Access Community Trust to support homeless and vulnerable people in the town with food and toiletry parcels, and give them somewhere to access hot food during the winter season. Staff supplied the giftwrap and tape and the Poundland store in Lowestoft also gave wrapping paper and gift tags.

ECCH is holding another charity Christmas wrap at their headquarters, Hamilton House, so staff can donate money to have their own presents wrapped.
